"Windowless" version: [link]

Man, I haven't done a desktop in ages...

I came to the realization long ago that wallpapers are not the point of desktops -- it's all about the windows. Do you use wallpapers to browse the web? Or to check your email? No, you use applications, each of which go in a window. As such, I don't think it's really fair to clean up my desktop to give you a shiny picture. I hardly ever see my wallpaper anyway. Besides that, you'll get to know more about me from my workflow than from my wallpaper ;)

Truthfully, I've got a slew of wallpapers that rotate on a one-hour timer, but that's only to shake up the colors between the windows :) .

The machine is a Dell Inspiron running Kubuntu KDE4 and Compiz. The main Compiz plugins I use are Desktop Cube and Group And Tab Windows, along with all the basic functions (move, resize, wobbly windows, etc). You may notice a blue "shadow" around FireFox in the screenshot -- that's a tab group with FireFix, Thunderbird, and Sunbird. I have it set up so that Alt+. and Alt+, switch between windows in the group, and this setup, IMO, works a lot better than having, for example, Firefox on one cube face and thunderbird on another.

Plasmoids counterclockwise from top left to bottom right: Digital Clock, Application Launcher, Quicklaunch, System Tray, am3rok, Digital Clock, and Battery monitor. The dock is AWN. I'm also running Launchy, but it doesn't work well -- it doesn't properly read the .desktop files that I point it to, which results in improper calls to the application, which results in an error and no app. Between that and the fact that the inbuilt calculator doesn't even do division half the time, I don't use it too often. If it worked, I could get rid of the menu.

Anything I left out, let me know.
